Bill St. George

     Bill St. George has passed away....he was a great man...a wonderful man that learned from his own   life's hardships to help other people. Bill St. George is , was and will always be a guy that was for the     little man , the little people ...the real  salt of the earth type people.I was fortunate enough to play at his "PERCHATHON" with my band at each of the 4 years in HIS  4 year run 1996-1997-1998 and 1999      at the various   locations in ROCKLAND COUNTY , NEW YORK ....some times in August sometimes   in september....Kurland Olds Dealer on Route 304 in Nanuet is one and the other was the front and back parking lots at the  West Nyack Mall in West Nyack ......The "Perchathon" was a wonderful event that    Bill St. George came up with in which he PERCHED himself up on a "cherry - picker" vehicle for one    solid week....YES that is right , a FULL 7 days and 7 nights ....and would attract    people to the site in hopes of them donating money for the cause of MDA....Muscular Dystrophy Association...WHICH THEY DID .....at one year actually gathering over      $ 13,000. ...and the other years all close to that figure....    On the last day or 7th day Bill would put on his "Perchman" outfit and greet all the people that were there   to see him come back down off his perch....it was a very colorful costume that his wife Barbara had designed with Bill and sewed together....green....yellow.....white.....blue....orange....very colorful....!....   When you think of it , it is very God like in that it took 7 days and nights to create the earth....and             Bill St. George did 7 days and nights to do his "Perchathon"....!....Think about it....!....Things happen         for a reason....numerology tells a bit of this story....!....Although Bill St. George never actually met         Jerry Lewis , he   was in a way actually working this "Perchathon" for the  famous      traditional yearly     Jerry Lewis' "Telethon" benefit . There are many things to say about Bill St. George most of which will      tell of his kindness towards humanity. He had had his ups and downs in his life but did not dwell on them     as excuses to not progress.Instead he went on through life in a manner of positive thinking, as his brother Steve told me just today over the telephone...."Whatever my brother Bill got into, he got into whole hearted....just like the acting...people thought he was not going to be good at it....but there was Bill he  jumped right in"....Bill was a singer in a rock and roll band for a while....  as well as an actor in plays in     small theatre houses in the Nyack , New York area....actually portraying JESUS CHRIST and even a hillbilly type characther ala the Beverly Hillbillies....he got in there....did his thing....!.......Bill St. George      and his family was an active member of THE FAITH REFORMED CHURCH at 11 centerville Road in Slate Hill , New York 10973 (845) 355-6709 .There was a gathering for him today there at 6 P.M. and many turned out to pay their respects to him.Bill Saint George was born on FEBRUARY 22 1961 in Nyack , New York ...it was a Wednesday...and passed  away at his house  in Middletown , New York just a few days ago on October 17 2012 also a Wednesday...Yes time has gone by from his birth in 1961 to his passing on 2012 BUT time will not pass him by....he is with us eternally in memory...in our hearts...in all the good that he did which is felt by those who received his love....BILL SAINT GEORGE is a hero....a super hero as was his "Perchman".....BUT Bill Saint George is a real life hero....                                                Joe Nania   A.K.A.  Hollywood Joe   www.hollywoodjoe.com
