The day I met Beatle George Harrison

Hello to all, I went to the landmark music Concert For Bangla Desh in August of 1971.It was at     Madison Square Garden in my home city of the great New York City.My sister was dating piano player great Leon Russell at that time.We stayed with Leon at The Gramarcy Park Hotel in NYC at 23rd avenue and Lexington avenue. On one afternoon ,a Saturday I may add, Leon asked if my sister and I would kindly go out for a couple of hours so that he could be with George Harrison for a meeting. So we left his hotel room and made sure to linger around a little bit too long in order to see Beatle George Harrison emerge from the elevator that we were sure he would have to come off.He did and there we two stood ,my sister and I, lovingly looking at a man that we had seen onstage  just  a few nights before at The Concert For Bangla Desh and mainly from the tv shows over the years,The Ed Sullivan,Shindig,etcetera....and what have you  that were popular at the time.George got off the elevator and as I literally banged into him....walked into him....face to face....he 28 and I 18....!....my sister 19....!.....We had the same hair do by the way at that time..!....I MEAN ALL THREE...3......so we said there at the end of the hall to the right....and George stayed a minute or so and we all 3 spoke briefly....he then walked to Leon's room and knocked on the door....the door opened and George waved over to us........while saying to us...."see ya' kiddies".......It was really right out of The Beatles' 1964 black and white motion picture ...."A Hard Day's Night" .....and he then  smiled and walked into Leon's room .....my sister and I did NOT have enough....we also waited down stairs in the lobby to see the come through which they did and Leon said to us in a soft voice come back in 2 hours.....what an after noon for a 18 and 19 year young brother and sister....!
